16 teams participated in the Ward 100’s first annual Winter Games tournament held from 1 to 4 June in Itsoseng Informal Settlement.
Cosmo Tigers FC became this year’s winners of the tournament, and D1O of Diepsloot became runners up. The Premium Forum, who sponsored the event, awarded Cosmo Tigers with medals, trophy, a soccer kit, and undisclosed amount of cash. D10 walked away with a trophy, medals, a soccer ball and undisclosed amount of cash. Other runners up walked away with soccer balls cash.
The Premium Forum, which operates in Itsoseng in formal settlement, aims to help empower young people through sports, according to the founder Mbekezeli Dube.
“We as Premium Forum are looking forward to bringing more youth activities within our Community,” he said.
