About Us
Cosmo City Chronicle Live (CCClive) — community journalism from the heart of Cosmo City.
Who We Are
Cosmo City Chronicle Live, known to our readers as CCClive, is an independent community news publisher based in Cosmo City, Johannesburg, South Africa. What began as a way to keep neighbours informed about what was happening on their own streets has grown into a trusted local news platform reaching thousands of residents across Cosmo City, Roodepoort, and the wider Gauteng region.
We publish original reporting every week — from breaking community news and municipal updates to sport results, school achievements, and the human-interest stories that make our community what it is. Our journalism is written by people who live here, for people who live here.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to give the residents of Cosmo City and surrounding areas a reliable, independent voice. We believe that strong communities are built on accurate information, open conversation, and local accountability. We aim to:
- Report local news accurately, fairly, and promptly.
- Give ordinary residents a platform to share notices, opportunities, and stories.
- Hold local institutions accountable and celebrate local achievement.
- Support small businesses and job seekers through our listings and community boards.
What We Cover
Our newsroom publishes across a range of sections so that there is something relevant for every reader in our community:
- Community: the events, people, and issues shaping daily life in Cosmo City.
- Crime & Safety: incident reports, safety alerts, and updates from local policing forums.
- Education: school news, achievements, bursaries, and learning opportunities.
- Youth: stories, opportunities, and initiatives for and by young people.
- Sport: local fixtures, results, and the teams representing our community.
- Government: municipal notices, service delivery, and civic information.
- Press Releases: announcements from local organisations and partners.
Beyond news, CCClive also offers practical community services — a classifieds and notice board, a business directory, and a space where job seekers can share their CVs with local employers.
Our Editorial Standards
We take the trust of our readers seriously. All content published on CCClive is original and produced or verified by our editorial team. We check our facts before we publish, we clearly distinguish news from opinion and advertising, and we correct mistakes openly when they happen. Community-submitted content, such as notices and listings, is reviewed before it appears on the site. We do not publish plagiarised or misleading content, and we respect the privacy and dignity of the people we report on.
Our Community Platform
CCClive is available both on the web at ccclive.online and as an Android app on the Google Play Store, so readers can stay connected to local news wherever they are. Registered members can comment on stories, post community notices, list businesses, and upload CVs — making CCClive not just a news site, but a living hub for the community it serves.
