A Decade of Love: Luyanda and Langton Tie the Knot After 10-Year Journey

Sometimes love does not happen overnight. Sometimes it grows quietly and patiently — year after year — until one day it stands before family and friends and says, “We choose each other.”

That is exactly what happened when Luyanda and her husband, Langton, finally tied the knot after ten years together.

Their journey began in 2016 while Luyanda was still in Grade 10. What started as a teenage romance gradually matured into a partnership built on faith, support and shared dreams.

Speaking to Cosmo City Chronicle Live, Luyanda reflected on how it all began.

“When I met Langton, he asked me out for six months before I finally said yes,” she laughed. “From the beginning, he believed in me and in my dreams.”

At the time, Luyanda was pursuing modelling. While many young relationships struggle under pressure, theirs continued to grow stronger. Langton attended every competition she entered, offering encouragement and support — especially after she placed in the Top 10 in 2017.

“He encouraged me to try again the following year,” she said. “He always saw something in me, even before I fully saw it in myself.”

Six years into their relationship, the couple welcomed their son, Hlelolwenkosi, in 2022 — a milestone that further strengthened their bond.

“Even when things weren’t easy, we chose each other,” Luyanda shared. “It has always been about purpose, prayer and partnership.”

This February — often known as the month of love — their long journey reached a meaningful milestone. On 24 February, lobola negotiations were successfully concluded. The following day, family and loved ones gathered for Umembeso. On 26 February, the couple celebrated their white wedding ceremony. All three events were held in Cosmo City, surrounded by family and friends who had witnessed their love story unfold over the years.

The celebrations beautifully honoured their cultural heritage. Luyanda, proudly embracing her SiSwati roots, wore a striking dark blue and white traditional dress paired with a white shawl for the lobola ceremony. For Umembeso, she dazzled in a flowing blue satin gown detailed with beadwork.

Langton, honouring his Ndebele heritage, wore a khaki traditional suit paired with white sneakers. On their white wedding day, he looked elegant in a classic black suit, while Luyanda stunned in a short white bridal dress complemented by pencil heels.

Now Mrs Dube, Luyanda has a heartfelt message for young couples:

“Don’t rush into marriage. Choose someone who honours you, protects your peace and supports your dreams.”

For her, love is more than romance — it is consistency, communication and faith.

“Choose someone who sees your dreams as theirs too. Someone who celebrates your growth and walks with you through every season. Marry someone who feels like peace.”

After a decade of growing, learning and building together, Luyanda and Langton did not just celebrate a wedding — they honoured a journey years in the making.

And sometimes, that is the kind of love that lasts.
